well to me, old Hana Kimi is still the best no matter what. It's my 1st love & i've lotsa precious memories with it. I'll always love it w/ all of my heart.

I agree it is a waist of money doing a remake of a really great dorama, I need to see it but I am not agree at all, and I dont know I think nobody is going to fill in the shoes of Maki, Shun and specially of Toma.

It's kinda disappointing to see that they just COPIED the old series and not make it as a NEW one. I mean what's with the clothes, the hairstyles... That's my first view when they revealed the casts... though I 'll probably watch it to see how this drama would go... I expected to see a different perspective of the story. Perhaps if the story are different, I could at least see it as a new drama. If not. It'll be just a waste of money.

I have nothing against remake of series, but this one comes after 4 years only, and it seems identical to me in everything - costumes, settings, the poster is the same... - but nothing and no one can replace the gorgeous first Hana-Kimi, the old cast was absolutely superior and this new version seems to me an easy way to try and gain money on a previous hit.
The first version is something really precious to me, it's the drama I've been watching so far when I was feeling blue and I need to laugh, so for me this one is an absolutely no - no.

Okay, I don't want to be mean or anything. I try to not say bad things about stuff I don't like because someone might read it and become prejudiced but I wanna say it somewhere and I think it's okay if I say it here:

I couldn't even watch the first episode till the end because it was such a pain in the ass. It felt like betrayal, like they touched something sacred and made it into crap, into a laughing stock. My head began to spin and I felt the urge to throw up it was so aweful. I felt like rainman finding out his whole life was fake it was so painful I got a stomach ache and a head ache and digesting problems.....I could go on and on....

Short: Don't watch it it's not worth your time.

I was against it when I heard about the new Hanakimi, because I thought "the first one is so awesome, who needs a new one with different actors?".
Also, I would have understood if they wanted to shoot a remake after ten years or something, but the first one is still kind of recent! XD

I wanted to give it a chance anyway, so I watched the first episode: even if I wasn't expecting much to begin with, it was a huge disappointment for me. :/
I think Atsuko's a pretty good actress, but I don't like how Shohei plays Nakatsu and the new Sano doesn't convince me either. It's just the first cast, Toma in particular, and the way they acted is too hard to surpass - I'd say impossible. They just ended up being hollow imitations of the originals.

I'm not going to watch any more of it, I don't want to ruin my memory of Hanakimi.

Toma is the best Nakatsu ever.
