could anyone translate/summarize toma's interviews sometimes?? please??? =T

i was wondering if anyone here could possibly translate or even just summarize toma's interviews sometimes and share it with us? like, just tell us about the most interesting part of his interview, even? xD i've asked before, but i'm asking again because people that said they could do it have not been able to do it anymore...

HQ scans of toma's interviews are usually posted up at the ikuta_toma LJ or the toma_gallery LJ or even our LJ. and if they're not there, you can ask kavya (or me, i might know where)! ~.~ she'll probably have them or know where you can get them. you just need to remember to credit the source later, then translate away~~ and post it up (at your own LJ and post here linking there, or just here is fine. but remember to use a cut)!! ^_^ 

i can't read japanese, so i don't know which interviews are worth translating and don't know which ones to request getting translated. lol. but it would be nice if you could translate any interview from this year or maybe last year would be fine too...

and it would be great if the posts could be like the ones at tomatoloves' LJ (the last person to translate a lot of toma's interviews, in 2011)...you should include 1 pic from the interview at the top:

i'm majoring in japanese, so hopefully i will be able to get in on this soon. :) it's my full intention to do translations of his scans and such. i maybe even go back and do old ones, or take requests. and if i can figure out how to sub videos, i'd like to do that too.

but i think there's a lot of us in the same boat - we all want to help but we can't speak japanese! lol!

ooooooooohhh that's so cool!! I hope you can find the time to do translations sometime soon when it is convenient! about subbing, it takes a lot of time to time the subs xD i use Aegisub, it's quite easy to use once you figure out things! ^^ I believe making karaoke subs is a little more difficult than normal subbing because there you have to take care of every syllable, syncing it accordingly.. atleast songs end sooner than most videos that subbers have to sub.. my respect for subbers increased about 100x when I tried it myself xD

wow, kavya. i really admire your patience in dealing with all the troublesome stuff that goes into karaoke subbing and regular subbing!! i really wouldn't be able to handle all that! really...thank you for all the time and effort you've spent on making all those karaoke video clips!!! ~_~ *hugs*

I will work on some of the interviews that I wanted to translate when I have time.

Currently I am translating Bokura No Jidai and will take some time to complete both episodes. The video will depend on how fast the person can sub it though.

Well, the best is still to learn the language so that you don't have to depend on translation. Moreover, I find that translation is still a bit different from the original text as Japanese is such a beautiful language.

that's true, but it's so difficult to learn to read japanese! i've been trying to learn to speak/understand japanese and it's already so tough. i guess there will always be some things lost in translation, but for me, i'm already happy enough to know the general meaning of the text. lol.

i definitely want to learn the language, and i even went ahead and bought a learn japanese by yourself book(it's very rare to find anything related to japanese in bookstores here, and it looked very old, but i still bought it cos i thought something is better than nothing.. :D) it's all in romaji though, and i shouldn't have bought it cos learning through romaji is not right, it should have been through hiragana :( so i'll buy myself a proper book once i start earning(though i wonder if i'll have the time then :D)

Wow you're working on Bokura no Jidai...it's damn long. I really LOVE your LJ <3 : yours , kate's and Kavya's are my favorites :). Wish i could have more japanese skills to give a hand..
