Yamapi and Ryo withdraws from NEWS

O_othough being yamashita's friend, toma probably knew before this, but STILL!!!! such sad news!!! >_< i understand about ryo leaving to only be in kanjani8 cuz of conflicting schedules, but yamashita....*sigh*. i'm not really a fan of NEWS (and i'm not a fan of yamashita...), but i feel so sorry for NEWS fans. i hope the 4 of them that are left will be ok, but it's going to be so tough. =0

I can see Ryo leaving
since he's so busy (K8, NEWS, dramas/othersolothings) they'd never be able to record anything or go on tour without him having schedule conflicts.

Yamapi is just :| rn w/e dude.

And NEWS will probably die...
Unless they come up with a magic way to stay popular and GOOD and actually RELEASE STUFF.

I love NEWS but now that they are 4, they seem.. balanced. In terms of their character :D
Now if only Johnny can throw Toma in.. That way it won't seem too much like "Tegomass and the slightly insignificant KoyaShige".

Shige and Koya are my favourite members in NEWS btw.

wow that's insane! i can't say i was ever a big fan of NEWS, but i do love yamapi. and i always had the impression that NEWS was built around him, but i could be wrong, cause like i said i was never a big fan of the group. but i do think you're right, it'll be hard for them to stay popular.

i wonder why he left? guess there was too much to do?

yamashita just wants to do his own thing and go solo, since he's so popular (i don't get why though...). i hope he doesn't wanna go to america like jin. i REALLY don't think jin or yamashita or anyone from asia really has a chance of making it big here in america. it's super super hard.

the only ppl from asia that can become popular internationally so far are only the classica music ppl, like yo-yo ma or the other person whose name i can't remember right now. xD

i do agree, i don't see them becoming big here. americans are weird in the things they like, and i don't see them getting into pi's type of music. but i would love if he tried. :) i'd go see him in concert! he's cute and sweet, and he's toma's bestie, so he's all thumbs up for me, lol. i'd support him for toma, if nothing else! ^^

well...i just think it would be embarassing for him if he tries and fails, but i guess it would be a real treat for yamapi's fans in the u.s. xD AND what if toma comes and sings a song with yamapi?? that would be so awesome!!! =D

I got to say I wasn't surprised. I had a feeling for the past several months now that one of this days, Pi will leave, I just didn't expect Ryo to do so. Well, at least not on the same day. Let's admit it, Pi and Ryo are total crowd drawers and I won't blame Ryo for leaving if Pi did. I, however am happy about Ryo's reason for leaving. It is valid.

It might not be too late for Toma to belong in a group but I don't like the idea of him being a replacement. He is, more than that. Way more than that. He is doing well on his own now so I prefer him that way. Our Toma did what he can to be where he is now and that's enough.

I'm rooting for the new NEWS still (even if I'm not a fan in the first place since I like them as individual not as a group). :)

I never really liked NewS as a group because of how it was formed and the fact that 4Tops will always have a special place in my heart, but DAMN. I feel sorry for the remaining NewS members and NewS fans, especially the fans... Now the Ryo one, I totally called it. It was only a matter of time, and Yamapi choosing solo over NewS gave him as good an opportunity of going back to Eito full-time as any. As for Yamapi, well... The timing makes no sense, and there are things you just DON'T do. How much group activities did NewS have this year anyway? Don't make me laugh. And, it's not like Koichi and Tsuyoshi and Takki and Nakai and KimuTaku, for God's sakes, don't have their own solo careers outside of their groups, but they juggled both just fine. Ryo's case I understand, his decision is better for both groups schedule-wise. Yamapi? It's called being irresponsible.
In the shocked frenzy, I did hear quite a few Tomapi fans and some 4Tops fans mention that they want to see them in a temporary unit or collaborate again now that Yamapi is groupless. Honestly, I'll be shocked and disgusted if Yamapi comes out and announces a temporary unit with any of the remaining three from 4Tops. If he says he wants to go solo, he better not come crawling back to his old group, or worse, Toma and the rest of 4Tops for a "limited unit" when things don't go well. He made his bed, now he has to lie in it, and no matter how much I want to see Toma, Kazapon, HaseJun, and Pi on stage together again, my attitude is "let him do what he wants as long as he doesn't drag Toma, Kazapon, and HaseJun into it." He might not have left 4Tops willingly, but as the leader and most prominent member of a group, there are things you're not supposed to do, not even as part of a plot to return to the group you unwillingly(?) left. And not to mention the fact that it'll just attract hate for Toma and the rest from NewS fans anyway.
And Toma in NewS? NO. NO WAY IN HELL. If the jimusho wanted him in NewS they would have debuted him with Yamapi in the beginning. Toma's career is going just fine without a group, and he's having fun being an actor. He's not a replacement for anyone.
TL;DR: Shocking news, understanding on Ryo's part but Yamapi's kind of an ass, please leave Toma and 3Tops alone and don't get them involved in your nice, SOLO career or your former group.

finally! i have been waiting to see if anyone would say that yamashita is a jerk for abandoning NEWS. but i know there's a lot of tomapi fans here, so i didn't want to say anything much, but i totally agree with you!! it reminds me of when certain american actors abandon a tv show that has been popular for years to go film movies and be a big star and then the show soon dies afterwards. but i hope NEWS won't die. kat-tun is still ok without jin, so i guess maybe NEWS might be too, though they lost 2 crucial members instead of 1.

and about tomapi fans hoping for a toma + yamashita group...i agree with you. i don't think yamashita should be in any group anytime soon. he's got to prove he can make it on his own. i would love to see toma singing randomly with him sometimes at his concerts, but that's it for now. and anyway, i really don't think toma wants to be a singer anymore, so why are people talking about toma in NEWS or toma + yamashita group?? i know there's a lot of people that still want to see toma be a singer, but it's a little insensitive to talk about toma + yamashita group right now.

personally, i think if toma ever becomes a singer, he should be a solo singer, not with yamashita. because after everything he's been through, he deserves to be a popular singer on his own and not have people blabbing on about how he's only popular because he's with yamashita. and yamashita will surely overshadow him because he's been doing this for so much longer than toma has and he has wayyyy more fans. but i do hope they can act together sometime, though.

i understand tomapi fans wanting them to sing together on stage...it was their dream a long time ago. but toma has a different dream now.
