Comments keep a community alive, IMO. So by asking for comments, she IS trying to help keep this community active. She is not making people beg, just say something real quick like "Thank you" and tell her which video they want. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
Because if she doesn't ask for comments and just shares the videos, barely anyone will comment. Of course she will be less motivated to share videos if very few people comment. This is why she needs to ask for comments before sharing them.
