What your first impression of Toma?

This make me remember what my first impression of him.
OK I watch Hanakimi because I like Shun (from watching Gokusen). I did check this drama before (long before I actually watch it) because I love Hanakimi comic. The first time I only watch the 1st episode but it didn't follow the comic and I didn't like the main (mizuki) character because she doesn't seem mentally strong to me. But the blond guy is really good looking and foreigner looking. I did notice his presence right away even before Shun but I was disappointed with the story so I didn't continue watching it. I never found an actor that has such a presence like him .I watched Yamapi, Ryo and Shun way before I watch Toma but none of them leave deep impression like him. I found myself addictive to him more and more after watching more of him .I was mad at myself for didn't know him sooner.
So what your first impression of Toma?

i read that post, and crying when they say "they look comfortable together and Yamapi seemed so happy being with Toma that anyone looking can tell how close they are"

i think not Papa (i call Johnny-san Papa) wont debut Tou-chan (i call Toma, Tou-chan) debut.
but i think he is the one who refuse..

i "saw" Tou-chan in SC (because of 4TOPS and Tomo of course)
i think "this guy is really funny..
and when i watch HanaKimi, i think "WOW! he can ACT! i love this guy more"
and then i watch his dorama and movie, OH MY GOD!
HE IS REALLY SOMETHING!

i just love him, especially when he is with Tomo..
i miss them..
i want them "back"
i want them get a project together..

Yes, Tomapi is the best. I actually like Yamapi before I like Toma from watching Nobuta no sth. But I ship to Toma after watch Hanakimi. Same for Shun hehe. I guess I am one of those fan that only like 1 actor at a time. Well I can't find anyone better than Toma yet so Toma is the only one for me right now.

The first time I saw anything Toma-related had been in Maou, which I watched solely because of Ohno Satoshi, I'm not going to lie (and also sorta because it wasn't a romance drama, and more of some kind of exciting suspense thing, which is fantastic). At that time I'd been more attuned to Ohno, of course, and didn't really pay attention to the other actors.

As Naoto, though, Toma complimented Ohno perfectly. They were polar opposites and they delivered, and the conflict in Naoto between accepting his past or running away from it had been captured so well I started to like Toma, too. Then I watched a couple of his Maou PR stints with Ohno, and I realised that this guy was a huge idiot off-camera, and it was the most endearing thing I'd ever seen.

Initially I saw Toma as sort of a method actor, which he might be, but I'm not sure, and as someone who's more manly, if only because of his portrayal of Naoto. Then I figured out that he's just really stupid and adorable.

I am the opposite. I watch Maou because of Toma. At first I didn't like Ohno when they portray him as good looking guy but later he seem to get cuter hehe. I like their chemistry.
Toma is a goofy funny guy off camera. That's what I love about him. Thanks for commenting.

Ahhh, Toma is so funny though, isn't he? It seems every time he's in something I end up laughing--he's got such a silly sense of humour!

His chemistry with Ohno is great, though, yes! You could even see how well they get along with each other in all those silly behind the scenes photographs, it made me so happy.

Sometimes I get heartbroken though when it comes to Arashi + Toma stuff, if only because Aiba, Nino, and Jun were taken from MAIN to form Arashi and left itty-bitty Toma behind. ;____;

I totally agree. If only Toma was included in the group. Among the group member I like Ohno the best, he is a great singer and a great artist and sport too (beat Toma everytime they compete something haha). I glad I knew about him through Maou. I like his personality, very natural. Hope they have a another project together.

My friend recommended me to watch HanaKimi. Honestly, I didn't really recognize him at the first sight. May be it's weird, but I usually don't like Asian with blonde hair (the reason is: I'm Asian, and I'm not used to see Asian with blonde hair in my country. I have many favorite actors who're blonde but of course they're not Asian. I know this reason is lame, haha). And honestly, I don't really like the story.
After watched some episodes, I realized that his way of acting is unique. His expressions is really good and funny. And... I like his smile.

haha..me too, I don't usually like asian guy with blonde hair but Toma for me is exceptional..I love him in blonde...
Honestly I didn't like the story at first either (different from the comic I read) but I look pass it because Toma was just so cute and funny and also the dorm guys too..

I finally finished it too. Since then I like blonde Toma too, hehe. For me, Toma with blonde hair give me summer aura and Toma with dark hair give me winter aura. Haha, weird, isn't it. I mean he's good in both blonde or dark hair, but each gives different impressions.

OMG, you said exactly what I thought about his hair..summer blonde and dark winter. I love his blonde hair more actually, he looks so fresh and handsome..not that I don't like dark. But my heart beat harder when I see his blonde hair..hahah

Hana Kimi was the second dorama I have ever seen. I had holidays, visited my friend (700 km away from my home town) but my friend was working during the day so it was extremely boring. I unintentionally found hana kimi and toma. I loved him from the first scene he really caught me somehow. It’s somehow hard to describe (and much harder in English ^^) I loved his expression and the aura he gives playing a role. I started searching for toma, learned about johnny’s, arashi and yamapi. And all I did the whole summer! was spending time watching downloads, and reading interviews and all the other stuff. Let’s say I was addicted from the first moment ^^
But I didn’t cry until hanamizuki, there I fell in love with toma for the second time

So the impression I have is…he saved my holiday :D and being a toma fan defiantly will never get boring

first impression of toma... hmm... i also found out about him because of hana kimi. i was looking for the taiwan version cuz it was popular. but then some clips from the japan version showed up. i saw the scene where nakatsu and sano kiss. lol. right away i thought "this guy is really cute/talented/and seems like a nice guy!!" i watched hana kimi and just fell in love with him from there and looked up more info about him and everything. xD he's just such cute, adorable, talented, funny guy!! ^^

your journey to discover Toma was sort of like me. I watch the Taiwanese version 1st because it closed to the original but I felt in love with the Japanese version because of Toma. Thanks for commenting.

I saw Thomas for the first time in 'Bokura ga ita'. And he touched my heart deeply. Not only for his skill in acting, but also for his so to speak, to move, his way of being, in fact. I remained literally hit and I started to get interested in him more and more. And I found out that he is a very serious person, he commits so much in his work, even when he has to shoot a comedy. He is a professional in every respect and I really love him for it!

Bokura ga ita is one of my favorite anime of all time so Toma in it is perfect for me. I love that serious side of him too. He always commit 100% to whatever he do. I love his singing and dancing too. Thanks for commenting.

I wanted to write Toma, how did I do to write it wrong? However, thanks to you for your blog. What distinguishes a true actor is knowing how to play comic parts and series parts to perfection. And as we know, Toma succeeds 100%!
