i think it's a good idea. less and less people are using livejournal and commenting. this would help a lot. even though i prefer people commenting (even just to say thanks or something short), it's nice to at least get "likes" or "+1" on posts or comments.

and there's some people there in the comments that are annoyed about this and the new livejournal layout and stuff. but i guess it's necessary for them to make livejournal more like facebook or twitter or tumblr. that's the only way they can survive and try to keep livejournal "cool". too many people getting bored here and leaving. =( sigh....

there are times when i wish i could just "like" something. its a nice, easy thing to do that makes people feel good. but i doubt it will renew interest in lj. :( not many people have time for online journaling, so its easier to post to twitter and facebook with an app from your phone. and for more serious bloggers, blogger or wordpress seems to be preferred. and honestly, i've hated many decisions lj has made the last few years. if it were not for the ikuta toma/jdrama/japanese fan community, i would be at dreamwidth full-time.

i understand. :( and i agree with what you're saying. but LJ is a pretty nice place to blog and i guess i'll still use it sometimes when i have something to talk about that is too long to discuss at twitter. also if i wanna share lots of pics or something...

also, i still think LJ is the best place for fandoms. tumblr is ok, but there's just barely any discussion there. at least here, there's more potential for discussions.
